His obituary in the Uttoxeter Advertiser[1a] says that he died of septic poisoning in Egypt on 8th April 1918. A number of the other sources give the date as 6th April 1918.
He left a wife and son[1a].
He is buried in Grave O.86 in Jerusalem Cemetery
This touching memorial notice was posted in the Uttoxeter Advertiser in April 1919 to mark the first anniversary of his death |
GUY. – In Loving Memory of Gunner T. W. Guy, who died whilst on active service in Egypt, on April 6, 1918. In a distant land though his body may rest. Far from us and the friends he loved best, Still deep in our hearts his memory we keep, Sweet is the place where he now lies asleep. - From his loving Wife and Son; also Mother, 36, Ashbourne-road, Uttoxeter.
