Names to be Added to War Memorial

NAMES TO BE ADDED TO WAR MEMORIAL

During our research we have discovered that the town War Memorial did not record all the soldiers with Uttoxeter connections who died in World War 1.

The town council agreed that these names should be added to the memorial and JCB have kindly paid for the necessary extra bronze plaques.

The plaques were installed in April 2018.

A moving dedication service was held on the 25th of April 2018.

The new plaques contain a section with correction for the errors on the existing plaques.

Please Note these are men with strong connections to Uttoxeter, who were not on the Uttoxeter Town Memorial, they may be remembered on other war memorials.
